How Power of Thor Megaways works
Power of Thor Megaways does not use a fixed number of paylines. Instead, wins are formed by landing matching symbols on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel. The number of winning routes changes on every spin because each reel can display a different number of symbols.
This changing layout is the heart of the game. One spin may offer only a modest number of ways to win, while another can expand the game grid significantly and unlock the maximum 200,704 winning combinations.
Winning symbols disappear from the reels through the avalanche feature. New symbols then fall into the empty positions, creating another chance to land a win without placing an additional bet. As cascades continue, the reels can grow taller, increasing the number of ways to win and making the action more intense.
Symbols and special mechanics
The game uses themed low-value and premium symbols. Lower-value icons are rune-style card ranks, while higher-paying symbols include warrior-inspired objects and characters from the Nordic setting. Thor is the key premium character and can deliver the game’s strongest standard payouts.
Wild symbols substitute for regular paying symbols to help complete winning combinations. They can appear during the base game and bonus feature, adding extra flexibility when the reels are packed with different icons.
The expanding reel system is particularly important. Every successful cascade can add more symbol positions to the reels. More positions mean more possible winning routes, so a long cascade sequence can completely transform the size and potential of a spin.
Free spins bonus round
The main bonus feature is activated by landing the required number of scatter symbols. Players receive free spins, during which the slot’s expanding-reel action becomes especially valuable.
The bonus round focuses on building momentum. Cascading wins can increase the game area and create more ways to win, while special features can add multiplier power to winning combinations. The exact outcome varies from bonus to bonus, but this is where Power of Thor Megaways can produce its most exciting sequences.
In supported casinos and jurisdictions, players may also have the option to pay for direct entry into the free spins feature. This is a high-risk choice, since the purchase does not guarantee a profit, but it can appeal to players who want to skip the base game and go straight to the main feature.
