John Hunter and the Quest for Bermuda Riches Review
John Hunter and the Quest for Bermuda Riches is a five-reel adventure-themed slot from Pragmatic Play. The game follows the familiar explorer John Hunter on a treasure hunt through the Bermuda Triangle, where ancient relics, sunken secrets and high-value symbols set the tone. It is a colourful, fast-moving online slot designed for players who enjoy classic payline gameplay with a feature round at its centre.
Rather than taking players into a jungle temple or an Egyptian tomb, Bermuda Riches heads below the waves. The setting combines tropical islands, pirate-style treasure and an underwater expedition, giving the title a lighter and more playful personality than some of the provider’s darker adventure releases.

How to Play
The game uses a straightforward five-reel, three-row format. Choose a stake using the betting controls, then press spin to set the reels in motion. Wins are awarded when matching symbols land on active paylines, generally from left to right, beginning on the first reel.
Lower-value symbols are represented by traditional playing card ranks, while the more rewarding icons include explorer equipment and themed treasure items. John Hunter himself is an important premium symbol, and the game’s special symbols can unlock its most exciting moments.
For a sensible approach, players can begin with smaller spins to get used to the pace and frequency of winning combinations. The game’s bigger opportunities are tied to its bonus mechanics, so it is worth checking the paytable before playing to understand symbol values and feature rules.
Wilds, Scatters and Free Spins
The Wild symbol can replace most regular symbols to help create winning paylines. This makes it especially useful when high-value icons appear across several reels but a matching symbol is missing from the combination.
The Scatter symbol is the route into the free spins feature. Landing the required number of scatters activates a set of free rounds, where the game’s main bonus mechanic comes into play. During this round, a selected high-value symbol can expand to cover full reels when it lands, increasing the chance of landing several matching symbols across the reels.
This expanding-symbol mechanic is the highlight of John Hunter and the Quest for Bermuda Riches. It can turn an ordinary-looking spin into a much stronger result, particularly when premium adventure symbols are involved. Free spins may also offer retrigger potential, depending on the feature conditions displayed in the game.
Is John Hunter and the Quest for Bermuda Riches Worth Playing?
This Pragmatic Play title suits players looking for an accessible adventure slot with a clear bonus objective. Its fixed paylines and familiar wild-and-scatter structure make it easy to learn, while the free spins round adds enough suspense for players chasing larger treasure hauls. The maximum payout of up to 5,000x the bet also gives the game meaningful upside.
